On Wednesday 5th of November the Mitchell Adam team were back out in the world of stalls, students and delicious packed lunches – we could get used to those!
We found ourselves once again dishing out sweets, pens and advice from our lovely Mitchell Adam stand, and headed over to University of Birmingham for our second and last graduate fair of the year.
We must say the University of Birmingham campus is beautiful. The architecture is breath-taking and the iconic clock tower acted as a great landmark, drawing us in the right direction towards the Great Hall.
After setting up and taking some obligatory selfies (how could we not!?) a very busy and advice filled day commenced…
Zena and Jordan were on hand offering advice on how to present CVs, the accounting and finance job market and the opportunities we have at Mitchell Adam. The pair were so friendly and approachable, we even managed to coax a cheery picture from two unsuspecting students!
We were amongst very impressive company, with representatives present from Ernst and Young, KPMG and PWC – also the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, CIMA, had a stand offering advice on their courses – to name but a few. We even got to catch up with quite a few clients of ours, and of course sample some of their wonderful marketing materials. Who can say no to a thermo mug, especially as it gets colder!
And while we were delivering advice on breaking into the finance sector, we were fundraising for Acorns Children’s Hospice – an amazing regional charity providing support to both life limited and life threatened children and their families. We organised a charity raffle, where prizes included Waterstones vouchers, Odeon gift card and tickets to a Worcester Warriors rugby match. So a massive thank you to everyone who got involved and congratulations to those who’ve won.
It was an enjoyable day, full of impressive students and hopefully great advice. We look forwards to returning next year with more opportunities.
