I was doing my usual content research for our social media channels, when I came across an article that really made me think; ‘Pick a ‘Company Anthem’ to Attract Top Talent’ by J.T.Donnell is about, well, picking a ‘company anthem’ to attract top talent – lets be honest, it does what it says on the tin.
Now as J.T writes, we’ve all heard of national anthems – ‘God Save the Queen’ and all that – you may even have your own personal anthem – but does your company have an anthem? Neither did we. Until now.
J.T’ writes “If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, a song is worth 10,000.”, and by using the research of Bruce Kasanoff she makes a valid point surrounding the emotional connection music hold over us as human beings. After reading the whole blog a few times, I decided to ask the team “What do you think should be the Mitchell Adam company anthem?” Who better to ask than the employees living it?
Our responses include the good, the bad and the downright cheesy! I thought I’d share some of the best with you:
- I Love it When You Call – The Feeling
- The Moneymaker – Rilo Kiley
- We are the Champions – Queen
- Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen
- Worlds Greatest – R. Kelly
- Reach – S Club 7
- Right Here – Jess Glyne
- Rule the World – Take That
- Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
- I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
Here at Mitchell Adam, other than being financial recruitment dons, the company culture and atmosphere is pretty lively, always positive (we’re a glass half full kinda place) with a hint of friendly competition – making for some interesting and unique days! It was interesting reading the consultants suggestions, because I genuinely think they’ve captured our culture – just not in a single song.
As you can see from the consultants picks we have real mix of songs, from rock to pop and R & B, reflecting the mix of people we have working here – and picking a single song to sum up the culture of our company is simply too hard, as each song sums up an aspect of Mitchell Adam (we do love it when you call, we are champions and we do feel tonight’s going to be a good night) … so we settled on a playlist!
Listen to our consultants selections below, and boogie around to the Mitchell Adam sound!
And if you like what you hear and fancy being a part of the team, then get in touch! We’re always on the look out for new faces.
