Senior Finance Officer

Mitchell Adam are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation operating within the charity sector. The business is looking to strengthen its finance function with an experienced Senior Finance Officer who can combine strong accounting fundamentals with a broader involvement in month-end reporting, financial controls and cost management.

This role offers a good balance between core accounting responsibilities and management accounting exposure. You’ll contribute to the month-end process while carrying out reconciliations and investigating variances to ensure financial information is accurate.

Skills Needed

• Experience supporting month-end and management accounting processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals, overhead reviews and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes, supplier reconciliations and purchase order matching, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and ensure costs are recorded accurately.

• Good analytical and Excel skills, with experience maintaining financial controls, reviewing account balances and supporting accurate reporting.

• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work with colleagues across the business. Experience using Access or similar finance systems would be beneficial.
