Senior Accounts Payable

A well-established and highly regarded engineering organisation is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable professional to join its growing finance department. The successful Senior Accounts Payable professional will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger function within a busy and fast-paced engineering business. You will be responsible for processing and reviewing supplier invoices, managing supplier reconciliations, resolving complex invoice and payment queries, overseeing payment runs, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and within agreed timescales. Working closely with colleagues across finance, procurement, project teams and external suppliers, you will help maintain robust financial controls, improve processes and build strong supplier relationships. Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or project-based environment would be advantageous. This role would suit a proactive individual with excellent attention to detail, strong leadership and organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Ideally, you will:

• Have significant experience working within an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger position, ideally at a senior level within a high-volume processing environment.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and colleagues across multiple departments.
• Be looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive finance team where you can take ownership of the accounts payable function, support colleagues and contribute to the continued success and growth of the business.
• Have experience using accounting systems and managing supplier reconciliations, payment runs and process improvements; Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
