Management Accountant

Overview

Mitchell Adam are working with a successful logistics business in Walsall to recruit a Management Accountant into its finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, growing operation where you’ll have real ownership of the numbers, regular interaction with the wider business and the chance to make a visible contribution.

You’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end management accounts process, covering everything from month-end journals, accruals and prepayments through to balance sheet reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis. Beyond producing the numbers, you’ll work closely with operational managers to understand performance, explain variances and highlight opportunities to improve costs and profitability. With logistics being such a fast-moving environment, you’ll gain a real understanding of what drives the business and how finance can help it move forward.

Skills Needed

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role, with ownership of month-end processes.

• Good technical knowledge of management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills, with the ability to identify and explain variances.

• A confident communicator who enjoys working with operational stakeholders and taking a proactive approach to problem-solving.
