Accounts Assistant – Sage Experienced

Operating within a structured and high-volume finance department, this position is ideal for a well-rounded transactional professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys taking ownership of a varied workload.

Reporting directly to the Accounts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of the transactional finance function. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve balancing both sides of the ledger, managing the accurate input and processing of high-volume supplier invoices, and matching delivery notes within a fast-moving supply chain. Additionally, you will take responsibility for daily cash allocation, raising sales invoices for corporate distribution clients, resolving supplier and customer ledger queries efficiently, and assisting with essential bank reconciliations to support the wider team during busy month-end periods.

Skills Required:

• A solid, proven track record operating as an Accounts Assistant or Transactional Finance Assistant, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG environment.
• Good foundational knowledge of both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong IT literacy, including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of data entry accuracy and hands-on, practical experience utilising Sage accounting software to manage day-to-day ledger transactions.
• A proactive approach with the ability to communicate confidently across internal production, logistics, and finance teams.
