An amazing opportunity has come up within the finance team of a well-established business based in the Birmingham City Centre. This position would be perfect for someone who is currently within a temporary or work experience role where they have gained a couple months experience within finance and are now looking for a more sturdy/long term role. This position is a Trainee Finance Assistant, where although you may have some experience behind you the team here are looking for someone to take under their wing and train up into a strong, confident accounts professional.


The successful candidate for this position will be someone who has recently finished up a short term role or is currently in a role that they are less than 12 months into. Ideally they are wanting someone who has a small amount of experience (maybe even from a placement year) but not enough to be strong enough in a stand-alone finance role. The position will be getting the successful candidate involved with both purchase ledger and sales ledger responsibilities, as well as banking, treasury and some finance query resolution.

Skills required

  • Have gained a short term amount of experience (from a temporary role, work experience or placement year) within a finance department.
  • Have a relevant qualification such as an AAT qualification or an Accounting degree.
  • Have strong excel skills, as processing data on excel, generating reports and updating spreadsheets will all be part of this position.
  • Have strong customer service skills to support your finance experience, our clients are ideally looking for someone who can be a face for the company and liaise with clients with ease.
