Mitchell Adam are delighted to be working with a well-respected and forward-thinking School, who are seeking a School Finance Manager to take ownership of their day-to-day finance operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, from managing budgets and reconciliations to preparing month-end reports, while contributing directly to the smooth running and success of the school community.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the school’s finances are accurate, compliant, and well-managed. Day-to-day, you’ll oversee the ledgers, process payments, manage VAT returns, and produce clear, insightful reports for senior leaders and governors. You’ll also support with budgeting and forecasting, helping to shape financial decisions that make a real difference to staff and students alike.
Skills Needed
- Previous experience in a finance role, ideally within education, charity or public sector.
- Strong knowledge of VAT, including preparation and submission of returns.
- Confident managing ledgers, reconciliations, and preparing management reports.
- Organised and proactive, able to prioritise effectively in a varied role.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
