Project Accountant 12 month FTC

We’re seeking a proactive and hands-on Project Accountant to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is all about driving improvement, bringing fresh thinking to how we work, and helping to clean up historic financial issues so the business is set up for future success.

As Project Accountant, you’ll take on a mix of investigative and forward-looking work. You’ll dive into the detail of historic transactions and balances, resolve outstanding issues, and implement improved ways of working. Alongside this, you’ll work with the wider finance team to introduce streamlined processes, ensuring greater accuracy, efficiency, and control moving forward.

Key responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and resolve historic finance issues across ledgers and accounts.

• Support balance sheet reconciliations and identify areas requiring correction.

• Work with stakeholders to implement improved financial processes and controls.

• Deliver process documentation and recommendations for “better ways of working.”

• Assist with reporting, month-end, and ad-hoc finance projects as needed.

• Provide insight and challenge to ensure the business is set up for long-term financial accuracy and efficiency.

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• Strong technical accounting skills with experience in problem-solving and reconciliations.

• Track record of improving processes and driving efficiency within finance.

• Analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable digging into complex issues.

• Proactive, collaborative, and confident working with stakeholders at all levels.
