Payroll Clerk

As the Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of client payrolls, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered at all times. Duties will include processing weekly and monthly payrolls, calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, managing starters and leavers, processing statutory payments, and ensuring compliance with HMRC, pensions, and auto-enrolment requirements. You will handle payroll queries professionally and confidentially, maintain accurate payroll records, prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll data, and support audits where required. You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations for a portfolio of clients.

Ideally, you will:

• Have experience working in a payroll-focused role, ideally processing payroll for multiple clients with strong attention to detail.
• Be reliable, organised, and efficient, consistently delivering payroll accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach with the ability to identify and implement improvements to payroll processes.
• Have strong communication skills, enabling you to liaise confidently with clients, colleagues, and external bodies while handling sensitive information appropriately.
