Overview

Mitchell Adam are pleased to be working with a rapidly growing engineering business who are looking to appoint a newly qualified or finalist Management Accountant to support their expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on strong technical foundations within a structured environment, while gaining broader exposure to operational performance and commercial reporting.

Working closely with senior finance, you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, producing accurate and timely reporting with a particular focus on full P&L analysis, variance reporting and detailed commentary for a number of sites. This role will place strong emphasis on understanding movements in performance, investigating underlying drivers, and ensuring financial reporting provides clear and meaningful insight to support decision-making.

Alongside core month-end responsibilities, you will work closely with operational and departmental stakeholders, reviewing performance, discussing variances, and helping to explain the financial impact of business activity across the engineering environment. This role offers a strong platform for someone looking to develop beyond pure reporting, building confidence in presenting financial information while strengthening their commercial understanding.

Skills Needed

  • Experience producing or supporting management accounts with strong P&L exposure.
  • Confident delivering variance analysis and producing clear financial commentary.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and present financial data.
  • Finalist or newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with a strong grounding in management accounting.
