An established and expanding law firm is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Legal Cashier to join their finance team. This role has arisen due to the retirement of a long-serving team member, underlining the firm’s stability and long-term outlook. With exciting growth plans and continued investment in systems and people, this is an excellent time to join a dynamic, fast-paced organisation with a strong reputation and loyal client base.

The successful Legal Cashier will be responsible for managing client and office account transactions in line with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules, including processing client and office payments (CHAPS and BACS), accurately posting financial transactions, and performing regular bank reconciliations. You will be experienced in handling client account activity, managing disbursements, supporting billing processes, and ensuring the correct transfer of costs between client and office accounts, while also monitoring residual balances and supporting audit requirements to maintain compliance. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and be confident liaising with both internal stakeholders and external clients to resolve queries efficiently and professionally; this role will require excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail throughout.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a law firm, with strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and hands-on experience managing client and office accounts
  • Excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Experience using legal accounting software, with the confidence to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with fee earners, colleagues, and external stakeholders

You will receive:

  • A competitive salary reflective of your experience, alongside the stability of a well-established firm
  • Additional benefits such as on-site parking, pension contribution, regular social events, and a supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to work within a professional, friendly team in a modern office setting, with long-term career prospects

This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable law firm at a time of growth, where your skills and attention to detail will be highly valued. If you are looking for a role where you can make a real impact within a supportive and forward-thinking environment, apply now!
