Interim Head of Transactional Finance

Mitchell Adam are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Transactional Finance to lead and oversee the transactional finance function for a business based in Birmingham city centre.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control functions, maintaining robust financial controls, and driving improvements across transactional processes.

The successful candidate will bring strong operational finance leadership experience, with the ability to quickly assess existing processes, stabilise the function, improve team performance and deliver efficiencies. Working closely with senior finance stakeholders, they will ensure the transactional finance team provides an accurate, efficient and commercially focused service to the wider business.

Ideally, you will:

• Have proven experience in a senior transactional finance leadership role, such as Head of Transactional Finance, Head of Finance Operations, Transactional Finance Manager or Shared Services Manager.
• Have strong technical and operational knowledge across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control.
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing finance teams within a fast-paced, complex or high-volume environment.
• A track record of improving transactional processes, strengthening financial controls and enhancing operational efficiency.
