Group Accountant

Overview
Mitchell Adam are delighted to be working with a thriving and rapidly expanding multi-site retail group, headquartered in Birmingham city centre, to appoint a talented and ambitious Group Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, commercial environment and wants to take real ownership of their work analysing the groups performance, while shaping the financial performance of a rapidly growing business.

You’ll be producing accurate and insightful management accounts, from accrual, prepayment and inter-company journals, through to preparing cash forecasts, budgets, and delivering variance analysis across a portfolio of sites. You’ll also step into a business partnering role, working closely with operational leaders to provide the financial insights that drive smart decision-making. With a balance of technical challenge and commercial influence, this position offers the chance to build a rewarding career at the heart of a high-growth retailer, gaining fantastic knowledge of how the business runs.

Key Skills

• Strong experience preparing management accounts and cash flow forecasts unsupervised.
• Actively studying ACCA/CIMA, with the ambition to continue progressing.
• Advanced Excel ability and confidence working with large, multi-site data sets. Knowledge of Microsoft Navision is also desirable, but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills, able to influence and build relationships across all levels.
