A market-leading, asset-intensive organisation is seeking a Fixed Asset Accounting Manager to take ownership of its high-value asset base and lead best-practice accounting, reporting, and governance across the fixed asset lifecycle.
This is a critical role within a well-established finance function, offering high visibility, strong stakeholder interaction, and the opportunity to influence how a large, complex fleet of assets is controlled, capitalised, depreciated, and reported.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Fixed Asset Accounting Manager will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and governance of a substantial fixed asset register covering thousands of high-value operational assets across multiple locations.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Full ownership of the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, impairments and revaluations
-
Ensuring compliance with IFRS / local GAAP for all asset accounting, depreciation and capitalisation policies
-
Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end fixed asset reporting
-
Leading the accounting treatment of major capital investment programmes
-
Partnering with Operations, Fleet, Procurement and FP&A teams to ensure accurate asset tracking and capital controls
-
Supporting internal and external audits relating to fixed assets and capital expenditure
-
Driving improvements in asset governance, controls, systems and processes
-
Leading or mentoring junior team members where applicable
The Ideal Candidate
This role suits a technically strong accountant with deep experience in fixed assets within an asset-heavy environment such as fleet, leasing, logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing or engineering.
You will bring:
-
A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
-
Significant experience managing fixed assets in a complex, high-value asset base
-
Strong knowledge of IFRS and capital accounting
-
Experience working with large ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or similar)
-
A commercial mindset and the ability to work closely with non-finance stakeholders
-
Strong attention to detail, ownership mentality, and confidence challenging data and assumptions
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible, value-adding role within a large, financially stable, asset-rich organisation. You will be at the centre of major capital decisions and have the chance to shape how a multi-million (or billion) asset base is governed and reported.
The role offers excellent exposure, long-term career progression, and the chance to make a tangible impact in a business where assets truly are the engine of performance.
