I’m proud to be partnering with a high-growth business on an exclusive basis to appoint a Financial Controller. This is a critical hire that will play a central part in the company’s continued expansion.
The business has experienced significant growth over recent years and is on a clear upward trajectory. With investment in systems, infrastructure, and people, it’s an exciting time to join. This role offers the chance to shape the future of the finance function from the inside out.
The Role
This is a hands-on, technically focused position that will see you take ownership of the full finance function. You’ll lead on the production of accurate, timely financial information while ensuring all statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements are met.
You’ll also play a vital role in developing internal processes, integrating new acquisitions, and embedding scalable ways of working that support a growing and increasingly complex business model.
Alongside the technical responsibilities, this is a leadership role. You’ll be responsible for a growing finance team, providing mentorship, driving accountability, and creating a high-performing, collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS or UK GAAP)
- Manage the year-end audit process, acting as the key point of contact for external auditors
- Oversee financial controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Drive process improvement, identifying and implementing more efficient ways of working
- Support the integration of new acquisitions and contribute to broader finance transformation projects
- Lead and develop the finance team, setting clear objectives and creating a culture of continuous improvement
- Provide accurate financial insight to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
What We’re Looking For
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting under IFRS or UK GAAP
- Proven audit experience and confidence managing external relationships
- A keen eye for detail and a mindset geared toward rigour and accuracy
- Demonstrated experience of process improvement and system implementation/integration
- A collaborative and proactive approach to team leadership and people development
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels of the business
Why This Role?
You’ll join a business that values ideas, initiative, and ownership. You’ll be given the autonomy to shape how finance operates and the support to grow alongside the business.
If you’re looking for a career-defining role where you can bring together your technical expertise, leadership capability, and improvement mindset , I’d love to hear from you.
