Are you a technically strong Financial Controller looking for a high-impact role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We’re recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing, highly acquisitive services business that is seeking a commercially aware, detail-driven Financial Controller to lead their finance operations.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control across the group, overseeing a team of 15 across core accounting functions. This is a hands-on leadership role that will require strong technical accounting expertise, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to implement and enforce robust controls and processes in a scaling business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team covering financial reporting, transactional finance, and compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of month-end reporting, balance sheet controls, and reconciliations
  • Drive improvements in financial processes and controls, embedding best practices across the function
  • Own the statutory reporting process and lead year-end audit activity, ensuring the business is fully prepared and audit-ready
  • Support integration of newly acquired businesses into group reporting and controls framework
  • Business partner with senior stakeholders to ensure finance supports continued growth and strategic decision making
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP) and internal governance frameworks

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong technical accounting background
  • Experience in a group or divisional Financial Controller role, ideally within a multi-entity or acquisitive environment
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing large finance teams
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, audit preparation, and financial governance
  • Proactive, organised and able to thrive in a fast-moving, ever-changing business
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at senior levels
