This large services business is looking to appoint an ambitious and proactive Finance Business Partner to take ownership of a new acquired subsidiary business based in Stafford.

Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance in a hands-on role, you will streamline accounting & reporting procedures for sales and marketing department, as well as implementing all required controls and reporting frameworks designed to provide important commercial and strategic information to senior operational management quickly and accurately. You will then take full responsibility for the production of all monthly management accounts, annual financial accounts, board packs, etc. as well as the competent management of financial controls such as cash-flow management.

You will focus on directly supporting the commercial activities of the company by effectively business-partnering operational staff, raising awareness & understanding of the importance of achieving financial targets, and providing regular and timely financial information to support commercial business decisions. As part of the senior management team, you will prepare detailed board packs to help the board continue to grow the business as well as providing weekly reporting to give an accurate reflection of business position.

What is required

  • Ideally be recently-qualified (ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic record, coupled with exceptional excel skills (the ability to manipulate large amounts of raw data quickly and effectively)
  • Come from an audit background. Our client will be particularly impressed by candidates who have worked with larger businesses, either in an industry role or within a large practice.
  • Have experience of analysing and improving controls.
  • Be a talented communicator and be used to partnering with non-finance staff, leveraging your professionalism, practicality and sharpened communication style to help them understand complex financial information in fine detail
