Finance Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-driven individual to join a well-established family ran organisation, based in the Midlands. This Finance Assistant position is ideally suited to someone at the early stages of their finance career who is looking to develop their skills within a stable, professional, and forward-thinking environment.

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and employees and suppliers are paid correctly and on time. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with a proactive approach, comfortable liaising with colleagues and external contacts, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. As a Finance Assistant, you will support payroll processing, assist with invoice processing and reconciliations and help maintain accurate accounting records across a varied and fast-paced operation. You will also provide support during month-end processes and contribute to maintaining strong financial controls.

Skills and experience required

• Previous experience within an administrative, finance, or payroll role is desirable.
• An understanding of basic accounting principles, including invoice processing and reconciliations, and payroll.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and take ownership of tasks, while demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop.
