An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established and growing business for a Credit Controller to join a friendly and supportive finance team based in Birmingham. This role will play a key part in managing the company’s accounts receivable function, ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently while maintaining strong and professional relationships with customers.

This position is well suited to a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced finance environment and enjoys building rapport with clients while maintaining effective credit control procedures. Working closely with the wider finance team and internal departments, you will take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, resolving account queries, and supporting the overall financial performance of the business. You will also work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure accounts are maintained accurately and customer issues are resolved efficiently.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience within a Credit Control position and have a strong understanding of debt collection processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to confidently liaise with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume ledger and prioritise workload effectively, in a timely manner.
  • Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using finance or ERP systems
