Commercial Finance Manager

Overview

Mitchell Adam are excited to be working with a brilliant, fast-growing Marketing SME in Birmingham City Centre, who are on the lookout for a Finance Manager who genuinely enjoys the rhythm of an owner-managed business. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind balancing the bigger-picture reporting with the everyday ‘slevees rolled up’ tasks, this role will suit you down to the ground.

This is not a corporate, box-ticking environment. You’ll be the right hand to the Finance Director, the steady pair of hands behind the numbers. You’ll be owning Month-end, VAT returns, cashflow oversight, budgets and forecasts. But you’ll also be the person who helps the team with a query, keeps processes moving, and makes sure the finance function feels approachable and steady.

It’s a role for someone who likes variety, ownership, and contributing to a tight-knit business that’s proud of its culture.

Ideally, you will:

• Be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or QBE with solid experience running the management accounts in an SME.

• Be the sort of person who takes pride in a tidy ledger and a well-balanced month-end.

• Feel comfortable juggling tasks, one minute reviewing the P&L, the next helping the team fix a query.

• Have experience improving small-business processes in a pragmatic, low-fuss way.

• Enjoy being at the heart of a business where people pop over to your desk with questions, ideas, or (occasionally) biscuits.
