Mitchell Adam are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded professional services business who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing client accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in management accounting who is looking to move into a more varied, client-facing environment, gaining exposure to a portfolio of property and construction-focused businesses.
Working closely with clients and senior finance professionals, you’ll be involved in the preparation of management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reporting, reconciliations and variance analysis. The role offers the opportunity to understand the businesses behind the numbers, working through financial performance with clients and internal stakeholders rather than simply producing reports. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to areas such as CIS, client accounting and the wider financial requirements of property-based businesses.
As you develop within the team, you’ll take increasing ownership of your client portfolio, becoming a trusted finance contact and building confidence in presenting financial information and dealing with queries. With strong support around you and exposure to experienced Client Accountants and Managers, this is a great platform for an Assistant Management Accountant looking to broaden their technical experience while developing commercially and professionally.
Skills Needed
- Experience within an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role with exposure to month-end.
- Good understanding of management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Exposure to CIS is highly desirable, ideally within property, construction or a professional services environment.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse financial information and produce accurate reporting.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships and develop towards a client-facing role.
