Assistant Group Accountant

Overview

Our multi-site client in the Manufacturing and Property sector is looking to recruit an ambitious Group Accountant into their head office team based in Birmingham, due to unrivalled growth. This role has been designed for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career ideally an Assistant with solid foundations in Management Reporting and forecasting, who now wants to move into a broader, more influential position.

Joining a high-performing finance team, you’ll quickly take responsibility for producing accurate management accounts across the group, from accruals and prepayments through to reconciliations and intercompany journals. As you grow in confidence, you’ll expand into preparing cashflow forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis across multiple sites, while also gaining exposure to business partnering with operational leaders. You’ll have the support of an experienced FD but also the autonomy to make the role your own, building both technical and commercial skills in a fast-paced retail environment.

Skills Needed

• Experience preparing management accounts (including accruals, prepayments and forecasting).
• Actively studying ACCA/CIMA and keen to progress quickly.
• Confident with Excel and able to handle large data sets (Navision knowledge a bonus).
• Strong communicator, with the ability to build relationships across the business.
