Assistant Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant on behalf of our client, a well-established global organisation based in Taunton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, joining an established team in a varied role with responsibility across a broad range of accounting and financial activities.

Working closely with the wider finance and operational teams, you will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, maintaining the integrity of financial records, preparing management information and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. You will also provide support across payroll, reconciliations and general accounting duties.

Ideally, you will:

• Have solid experience in a Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Have experience managing purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal postings.
• Be confident taking ownership of bank reconciliations and supporting month-end processes.
• Have experience preparing financial reports, management information and ad-hoc analysis.
• Possess strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
• Ideally have experience supporting payroll and Time & Attendance processes.
• Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Have a proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and build relationships across the wider business.
