Assistant Accountant

Overview

Mitchell Adam are pleased to be working with an international Services business based in Warwick who are looking to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of an Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who has outgrown a traditional transactional role and is looking for greater ownership, broader exposure and a genuine route into senior finance.

This position sits at the heart of the finance function, offering involvement across reporting, analysis and operational finance activities. You will take responsibility for a key overseas entity, becoming the go-to person for its financial performance while developing a detailed understanding of how the wider business operates. The role combines strong technical accounting with data analysis and problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys getting beneath the surface of the numbers.

As well as supporting month-end and reporting, you will gain exposure to international finance activities including multi-currency transactions and VAT.. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, support junior team members and work closely with stakeholders across the business, building experience that will prepare you for the next stage of your finance career.

Skills Needed

• Previous experience within a finance role with exposure to month-end reporting and management accounts
• Strong understanding of journals, reconciliations and core accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups and reporting tools
• Comfortable working with stakeholders across different departments and levels
• Ambition to progress within finance and take on increasing responsibility over time
