Assistant Accountant

An exciting and growing business is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in a varied and progressive role. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain broad exposure across management accounts, payroll, and transactional finance, taking ownership of key processes while developing your technical accounting skills.

The role will suit someone with experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and month-end accounting who is looking to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities will include managing the purchase and sales ledgers, processing invoices and supplier payments, supporting payroll activities, preparing and posting journals, assisting with month-end processes, carrying out balance sheet reconciliations, supporting accruals and prepayments, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with management reporting, and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and improve financial processes.

Ideally, you will have:

• Strong experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, and transactional finance
• Exposure to month-end accounting duties including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident communication skills and a proactive approach to work
