Overview

Mitchell Adam are working in partnership with a stable freight business to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their established finance team. This role is ideal for an AAT-qualified or AAT-studying accountant who is seeking long-term stability, clear responsibilities, and a role they can settle into rather than constantly reinvent.

There is exposure to budgeting and variance analysis, but the emphasis is on managing transactional ledgers and reconciliations first and foremost, alongside month end tasks. The business operates great processes and realistic workloads, allowing you to build confidence and ownership over time.

Skills Needed

  • AAT qualified or studying, with experience in month-end journaling routines.
  • Prior involvement in accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Comfortable working within established processes and structured deadlines.
  • A dependable, detail-focused approach with a preference for consistency over constant change.

What You’ll Receive

  • A secure Assistant Accountant role within an established finance team.
  • A stable working environment with clear expectations and manageable workloads.
  • Supportive management and a sensible approach to development and progression.
  • A long-term opportunity in a business offering study support and work from home.

Summary

This is a strong opportunity for an AAT-level Accounts Assistant looking for stability, structure, and a role they can grow into at a comfortable pace. If you’re seeking a dependable position within a well-run finance function, we encourage you to apply.
