Assistant Accountant

Overview

My client, part of an international retail group turning over billions, is currently recruiting into the head office function of one of their brands. The team has been steadily and organically growing and they are now looking for a dynamic Assistant Accountant to join their large team, and assist with the production of Management Accounts, and the analysis of some of the commercial product and site data. This is a stand out opportunity for a studying professional looking to grow rapidly in supportive yet bustling function.

The day to day in this role will mostly be familiar to the calibre of candidate that we are looking for, for this role. You will be working in the month end numbers, preparing accruals, prepayments and other adhoc journals, reconciling the balance sheet and working closely with a number of commercial stakeholders to give a story to the data you analyse when you assist the Management Accountant with the production of the MI Pack. In time you will assist with the budgeting and forecasting and be a fundamental part of the financial planning process/forecast.

Skills Needed

• Be looking to progress in your career, ideally part qualified and actively studying towards your CIMA or ACCA.
• Have prior exposure working with large data sets and working closely with non financial stakeholders to deliver these.
• Minimum exposure needed is prior experience reconciling the balance sheet and producing prepayments and accruals.
• A growth mindset and positive attitude to propel you in the business, as they are looking to reward the candidate with rapid growth.
