Accounts Payable

An established and growing food distribution company is currently searching for a reliable and efficient individual to join them as their new Accounts Payable Assistant. This role has become available due to the retirement of a long-standing team member, highlighting the stability and longevity the business offers. The successful Accounts Payable Assistant will support the end-to-end accounts payable process, handling a high volume of supplier invoices while ensuring records are accurate and up to date. Working as part of a close-knit finance team, you will build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring invoices are processed efficiently and queries are resolved promptly. The role involves processing invoices, supplier payments, reconciling supplier statements, completing payment runs and supporting month-end processes. The ability to work at pace while maintaining excellent attention to detail is essential in this fast-moving food distribution environment.

Ideally, you will:

• Have previous experience in accounts payable, ideally within food distribution or a similar fast-paced environment, processing high volumes of invoices.
• Be highly organised, accurate, and efficient, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines within a team environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain positive working relationships.
• Have experience with accounting software or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
