Overview

For an immediately available Accounts professional looking for an all-round Transactional role, our client, based in Small Heath, are actively searching for an Accounts Assistant to report directly into the Finance Manager. This will be to provide support across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including but not limited to three way matching Purchase Invoices, conducting supplier statement reconciliation, processing payment runs, raising sales invoices, performing high volume bank reconciliation using Excel, as well as month end duties such as balance sheet reconciliation. This role is applicable for a progressive individual as this is a position where you can grow with the business, as soon as you are confident with the transactional duties, you shall be granted your first set of two managed accounts to take ownership of, and will receive fantastic 1-2-1 training too.

Skills required

  • A dynamic Graduate or AAT qualified professional, with at least two years’ experience in a transactional accounting role.
  • Be capable of working towards tight deadlines, but also being flexible enough to pivot your daily responsibilities, according to business changes. This is especially pertinent currently, due to the ongoing supply chain issues.
  • Hungry to work for an international and growing business, ideally also having multi-currency accounting experience.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the changes in regulation and law, in a post-Brexit environment.
  • Wishing to develop in your career, showing an eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities regularly.
  • Will live locally, and drive, as the office is not easily accessible by public transport.
  • On an absolute maximum of a four week notice period.

  • Receive 1-2-1 training from the Group Finance Manager, which will be tailored in part by you. New responsibilities will be issued, with your input considered every step of the way.
  • Have regular salary reviews as part of the role progressing over time; you will be fairly rewarded as the role becomes more advanced.
  • Gain a competitive study support package towards your CIMA or ACCA, being allowed time out of the office on a regular basis, to study, as well as financial support that can be put towards courses and exams.
