An established and growing construction company is currently searching for a reliable and efficient individual to join them as their new Credit Controller. This role has become available due to the expansion of the business, highlighting the opportunities for growth and development within the company. They are looking for someone confident, dependable, and comfortable working as the sole Credit Controller within the business.
The successful Credit Controller will take full ownership of the credit control function, managing a high volume of accounts while maintaining accurate and up-to-date reporting. Working independently, you will build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently and queries are resolved promptly. The role involves regular customer contact, performing credit analysis, putting accounts on hold where necessary, monitoring aged debt, allocating payments, producing aged debt and performance reports, and supporting month-end processes. You will also provide ad hoc support to the Accounts Assistant on accounts receivable tasks where needed. The ability to work at pace while maintaining excellent attention to detail is essential in this fast-moving construction environment.
Ideally, you will have

Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable, ideally within construction, property, or a similar fast-paced environment, managing high volumes of accounts independently

Excellent organisational skills with the confidence to manage the full credit control process autonomously

Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain positive working relationships

Experience with accounting software or the ability to learn new systems quickly
