Our client based in Birmingham City Centre is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team. The company are global leaders in the industry, offering an exciting and energetic work environment. This is a varied position covering both the Accounts Payable and Sales Ledger processes and playing a pivotal role in the smooth running of the company’s financial operations.

Duties will include but aren’t limited to, processing and raising invoices, reconciliations, setting up new accounts, investigating discrepancies and being the main point of contact for accounts queries from suppliers and clients. As well as chasing overdue payments and handling aged debt, processing payment runs, assisting with month end and completing financial reports. This is an autonomous role, allowing you to manage your own ledgers and oversee your day to day duties. For this reason, organisational skills are essential as well as excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

What you will need:

  • Prior experience working in an Accounts Assistant position, or in a similar position where you gained experience covering both AP and SL processes.
  • Proficiency with Excel (including Pivot tables and VLOOKUPS) as well as other accounting software.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail, eager to work in a position where you can bring the experience you have acquired to date in your career to oversee processes of both ledgers.
  • Demonstrate a track record of having a problem solving and proactive approach to work.
