Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a successful and growing organisation based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic role for someone who has already built a good foundation within finance and is now looking to broaden their accounting experience within a supportive and forward-thinking finance team.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved across a wide range of accounting activities, including month-end processes, reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments, alongside supporting the preparation of financial information and management reports. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the wider business, gaining valuable exposure to different areas of finance while developing your technical accounting knowledge.

Skills Required

• Previous experience within an accounting or finance environment, ideally with exposure to month-end and general accounting processes.
• Good understanding of core accounting principles, including reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies effectively.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
• A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider finance team.
• Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA, or keen to pursue a professional accounting qualification would be advantageous.
• Most importantly, you’ll be ambitious to develop your accounting knowledge and progress your career within finance.
