An established and growing organisation is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. Working closely with the wider finance function, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts department while gaining exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities, including month-end processes and management accounts.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide support across both the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and deadlines are met. You will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, raising sales invoices, allocating payments, reconciling customer and supplier accounts, completing bank reconciliations, and assisting with credit control where required. Alongside your transactional responsibilities, you will gain valuable exposure to month-end activities, including preparing journals, accruals and prepayments, supporting balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budget variance analysis, and producing finance reports. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will also contribute to continuous process improvements and support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects.
Ideally you will:
- Have previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, or Finance Administration role
- Have exposure to month-end processes or be keen to develop your knowledge in this area.
- Possess excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Be studying towards, or looking to begin, an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (desirable but not essential).
