Overview
Mitchell Adam are pleased to be working with a rapidly growing engineering business who are looking to appoint a Finance Analyst to join their expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finalist or newly qualified finance professional who is looking to step into a more analytical and commercially focused role, offering strong exposure to performance reporting, planning cycles and stakeholder engagement.
In this position, you will take responsibility for analysing full P&L performance across multiple sites, producing detailed variance analysis and meaningful commentary to explain key movements in revenue, cost and margin. A core part of the role will involve turning financial data into clear insight, ensuring senior stakeholders and operational teams understand what is driving performance and where attention is needed.
Alongside monthly reporting, you will play an active role in budgeting and forecasting, supporting the development of financial plans and helping to challenge assumptions through data-led analysis. You will also be involved in presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders, helping to improve understanding of performance and supporting more informed decision-making across the business.
This is a role that offers genuine breadth and development, giving you exposure to both routine reporting and forward-looking analysis within a structured but fast-moving environment.
Skills Needed
- Experience supporting or producing management accounts with strong P&L exposure.
- Confident delivering variance analysis and interpreting financial performance.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse, structure and present data clearly.
- Finalist or newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with a strong interest in FP&A / commercial analysis. This is not a data analyst position and applicants do need a technical accounting background.
