A successful and continuously expanding business is seeking a motivated and dependable Accounts Assistant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across transactional finance and month-end processes who is looking to take on greater responsibility within a progressive Management Accounts environment. The role has been created due to sustained growth and ongoing investment, reflecting the organisation’s strong performance, stability, and commitment to long-term career development.
As part of a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you will play an important role in producing accurate and timely financial information. A key focus of the role will be delivering meaningful variance analysis, helping to explain movements across the P&L and provide insight into business performance. You will also be actively involved in cash flow forecasting, supporting visibility and control over the company’s financial position. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accruals and prepayments schedules, managing control accounts, and completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. You will support P&L reporting, carry out regular bank reconciliations, assist with the production of monthly management accounts, and contribute to funding pack preparation for Contract Hire. In addition, you will take ownership of key ledger accounts and play a valuable role in the year-end audit process.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience within a finance function, including month-end processes and reconciliations, cashflows and variance analysis.
- Currently studying towards, or looking to begin, a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent chartered accounting qualification.
- A proactive, motivated, and results-driven approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
