Accountant – Finalist

Overview

Mitchell Adam are partnering with a Historic, Birmingham based LLP to appoint a Finalist into their established finance team. Operating within a professional services environment, the firm places significant value on high-quality management reporting, meaningful analysis and strong partnering within its international offices. As a result, they are seeking a technically capable and commercially aware accountant who can combine accurate reporting with clear insight for senior stakeholders.

In this role you will take responsibility for the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, producing detailed P&L and balance sheet reporting supported by thorough reconciliations, variance analysis and clear commentary. You will work closely with partners and department heads across the firm, helping them understand financial performance, monitor departmental profitability and support budgeting and forecasting cycles. The role requires someone comfortable working in a professional services environment where financial insight, stakeholder engagement and analytical accuracy are critical.

Skills Needed

• Proven experience producing management accounts within a legal, professional services or practice-based environment.
• Strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, balance sheet control and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and departmental performance analysis.
• Confident communicator capable of working directly with senior stakeholders and partners.
