Finance and Bookkeeping Manager

Overview

Mitchell Adam are delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing SME with ambitious plans to grow turnover in the coming years. This role represents a rare opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and Finance Director, acting as the key finance lead within a dynamic and fast-developing organisation, whilst managing and improving commercial processes.

Initially, you will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, progressing towards a more strategic remit. This will include everything from bookkeeping and a full month end pack, through driving operational improvements, implementing new processes and ultimately supporting the business through a period of significant growth. You will be the spearhead for new commercial ideas too, and uniquely learning the entire business identifying opportunities from an office management perspective.

The successful candidate will have either a strong technical grounding and proven experience working with Owner/Founders in SMEs, or Management Accounts exposure on top of a transactional skillset. A track record of process improvement and change management is essential, alongside strong communication skills and the confidence to influence senior decision-making.

Skills Needed

• A studying or qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent QBE experience within SMEs, ideally in the service sector.
• Broad experience across both operational and finance functions, with evidence of driving improvements.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage and influence at all levels.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to a business at an exciting stage of growth.
