Overview
Mitchell Adam are working with a well-established SME services business in Birmingham seeking to appoint a capable and commercially aware Management Accountant. This is a broad, hands-on position offering full ownership of the month-end process alongside meaningful exposure to operational and senior stakeholders. The business offers structure and stability, but with the pace and visibility that comes from operating within a growing SME environment.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for producing accurate and timely management accounts, maintaining balance sheet integrity and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. Beyond core reporting, you will work closely with operational teams to review margins, monitor costs and analyse revenue performance, providing clear and practical financial insight to support decision-making. The role also offers scope to improve processes, enhance reporting and strengthen financial controls as the business continues to develop.
Skills Needed
* Proven experience producing full management accounts within an SME or services environment.
* Strong technical understanding of accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and balance sheet control.
* Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
