A growing and forward-thinking company is looking to welcome a new Accounts Assistant who is proactive, organised, and eager to make an impact. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and stable business where you will be the sole Accounts Assistant, working closely with the Directors and playing a key role in the day-to-day finance function. The role has become available due to a long-standing employee retiring, clearly demonstrating the company’s longevity, positive culture, and commitment to retaining its people.

The successful Accounts Assistant will take ownership of the full transactional finance function, covering both the purchase ledger and sales ledger. Responsibilities will include processing invoices, completing payment runs, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will also be involved in completing month-end duties and producing reports for the Directors, requiring a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work confidently and autonomously. Strong communication skills will be essential when liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.

Ideally you will:

  • Have hands-on experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role, ideally with exposure to both PL and SL.
  • Be comfortable working as the sole Accounts Assistant, managing the finance function independently while reporting directly to the Directors.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong communication skills to confidently liaise with suppliers, customers, and senior stakeholders.

In return, you will receive:

  • The opportunity to join a stable yet growing company that genuinely values its employees and offers long-term career prospects.
  • A varied and hands-on finance role with real scope to develop, grow, and access future opportunities as the business continues to expand.
  • A competitive salary package, including pension contributions and additional company benefits.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions are recognised and your development is encouraged.

If you are an experienced Accounts Assistant or ready to take the next step in your finance career within a growing business that offers responsibility, stability, and progression, apply now as this opportunity won’t be around for long.
