Financial Controller

We are working with a fast-growing, acquisitive professional services business that is looking to appoint a technically strong and commercially minded Financial Controller. This is a hands-on, senior role with significant visibility and influence, offering the right candidate the opportunity to progress to Finance Director within approximately 18 months. It is ideal for a confident, proactive accountant who is ready to partner with the Managing Director and play a key role in driving revenue growth and operational performance.

In this role, you will take ownership of the finance function, including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls. You will provide commercial insight and analysis that supports strategic decision-making, and work closely with the MD to identify opportunities to drive growth. You will also lead a small finance team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while improving processes and efficiency across the business.

This position offers genuine scope to influence the direction of the business, work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment, and develop into a Finance Director role for a technically strong and commercially astute candidate.

What is required?

• You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.

• You will have experience in a commercially focused role, ideally within a professional services or multi-site environment.

• You will be technically strong, confident in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.

• You will be commercially minded, able to partner with senior leadership, and influence growth and strategic decisions.
