HR Manager

Overview

Mitchell Adam are delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent school based in South Birmingham, who are looking to appoint an organised and experienced HR Manager to support their growing organisation. This role would suit an HR professional ready to step up, or an existing HR Manager accustomed to operating as a standalone function, who enjoys bringing structure, consistency, and clarity to a busy environment.

Reporting directly to the Bursar, you’ll take ownership of the school’s HR operations, ensuring processes are compliant, efficient, and supportive of both staff and leadership. This is a hands-on position offering genuine variety, where your expertise will play a key role in safeguarding, employee relations, and the smooth running of the school’s people function.

Skills Needed

• Proven experience within an HR role, ideally within education or a similarly regulated environment.
• Theoretical knowledge of safeguarding requirements, including maintaining the Single Central Register and administering enhanced DBS checks.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Confidence handling employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
