Accounts Assistant

A distribution company are creating a brand-new role within their finance team. As the new Accounts Assistant, you will be communicative, motivated, and eager to learn, but most importantly, you’ll be happy to get stuck into all things finance and support the business as it continues to grow.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive finance team where you’ll be able to demonstrate your practical skills and develop further. From statement reconciliation to taking full end-to-end ownership of your own ledger, you will work to the highest standard, ensuring all records are accurate and well maintained. In addition, you will assist with bank reconciliations, month-end reporting, and supporting the year-end accounts process, playing an important role in keeping the finance function running smoothly.

Skills required

• Previous experience in a similar role is highly beneficial, allowing you to hit the ground running, particularly with experience across both sides of the ledger.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and practical experience using Xero is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Confident communication skills, enabling you to liaise with both internal stakeholders and external contacts professionally.
• A strong eye for detail and the drive to complete work to the highest standard, minimising errors and discrepancies.
